Project Description

Flygt pumps are robust and offer maximum reliability, thanks to their well proven and unique N-technology consisting of backswept leading edges on the propeller blades and a relief groove in the wear ring area. The patented N-technology assures a self-cleaning pump resulting in no unplanned stops and reduced energy bills due to its sustained high efficiency. Excellent Flygt pump characteristics make them the perfect match for such demanding applications as flood control and storm water drainage.
Challenge
Flygt pump is a highly efficient premium class product compared to conventional pumps that are often used in the Philippines. The challenging part is to demonstrate that despite the product’s high price its lifetime value is more cost effective and the solution itself is highly sustainable and capable of solving the acute municipality’s need for flood prevention.
Solution
Submersible propeller Flygt PL7121 pumps establishing 12,600 m³/h (55,476 GPM) flow rate and 5 m (7 PSI) head were successfully installed and commissioned. Short lead time, fast installation and ease of operation ensured the area’s pump station preparedness for unfortunate weather conditions.
