FLOOD CONTROL SOLUTION FOR HAGONOY PUMPING STATION

Gotesco Marketing, Inc., a part of Gotesco Group of Companies, supplied, installed and commissioned 3 units of FLYGT submersible propeller pump at Hagonoy Pumping Station through the contractor EF Chua Construction, Inc.
Flygt pump model no. PL 7105/835-1220 is capable of delivering 3 m³/sec. against 4.2 meters TDH, 179 Kw., 460Volts, 3 Phase, 60Hz with self-cleaning capability and sustained high efficiency N-Technology.

Project Description

In line with its preparation for the onset of the La Niña phenomenon during the rainy season 2016, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was planning to upgrade its two flood pumping stations in Taguig City. The pumping stations are both located along the Circumferential Road 6 (C-6) in Barangays Hagonoy and Wawa

Challenge

Hagonoy Pumping Station was having a problem with clogging in their existing pumps, which caused serious damage due to floods in the rainy season. They needed a reliable solution that would effectively drain stormwater and prevent floods. High quality of the product and its long operating time were among the priorities for the customer.

Solution

Having discussed all the benefits and features of different product brands with the customer, Gotesco offered a Flygt propeller pump, as the best solution for the application.

The scope of supply included inverter duty with built-in fault alarms and contacts, PT-100 sensors on lower bearing and 1st stator winding and leakage sensors on junction box and stator house, complete with monitoring and status (MAS-711) and power analyzer, with 20 meters cable, support beam, holder unit, cable support grip spring unit and level sensor.

MAS 711 is designed to further enhance the outstanding reliability of a Flygt pump. As part of a complete Flygt pumping system, it helps reduce costs over a pump’s lifetime.
